And so, it begins.
After a long absence, I’m starting to blog again. With my new literary zine, Runicfire, assuming the name of my old blog, I’m not sure exactly what to call this new venture. All I will say is that here I shall collect stray thoughts, links of interests, bits of video reels I record for Instagram, and other miscellania.
I endeavor to post once a day about something or another, partially to sate the algorithm, and partly to satisfy my churning desire to express myself. In a real sense, I’m constantly drafting essays, simulating dialogues, and running jokes through my brain on a regular basis, yet not all of them are ready to become a zine centerpiece or a short story. I’ll reserve long format pieces for the zine, therefore, and focus on short essays and other material for the blog—although I reserve the right to expand upon blog content in the zine proper.
I’ll also be reposting some oldies from my previous web journal, so a lazy day might see me dipping into the archives of yore. Be it of vintage or novel make, I hope you, dear reader, find enjoyment in these digital pages.
I will, however, limit myself to a single post per day, unless there’s an important announcement or I become unnaturally excited about something. I don’t want to spend more time cultivating my social media presence than working on my art (even though a blog is, in a sense, an extension of my art), and Gary Vee is a hack.
